SeaTown Insider: Huskies Stay Busy on the Recruiting Trail
Updates on Washington's 2026 recruiting class, including new offers, official visits, and potential flips ahead of National Signing Day.
The Washington Huskies football team is on a bye this week. So, instead of a game preview, I decided to give updates on the program’s recruiting efforts, along with some UW basketball recruiting news.
Let’s get to it.
National Signing Day is on December 3-5, leaving the Huskies’ coaching staff about a month to solidify the program’s 2026 class, which is made up of 20 commits. Last week, 2026 three-star CB CJ Lavender flipped his commitment from Washington to UCLA. He is the only decommitment from the 2026 class since 2026 WR Terrance Saryon’s flip to BYU back in May.
The Huskies hosted a handful of visitors for their win against Illinois last weekend. One of those visitors was 2026 three-star DL Ta’a Malu (Annie Wright - WA). Malu, who committed to Washington in July, was on his official visit. “I love the culture. I love the game atmosphere,” Malu told me after his visit.

Also on official visits were:
2026 three-star LB Ramzak Fruean (Bethel - WA), who decommitted from UCLA.
2026 three-star ATH Toray Davis (Fairview - CA), who decommitted from UCLA
2026 three-star Florida-commit TE Kekua Aumua
Keep your eye on Fruean. Before committing to UCLA back in June, Washington was in hot pursuit of the local recruit. He was on campus throughout the spring, including the program’s Junior Day and the team’s spring game.
Also in attendance for the Illinois win was 2026 four-star WR UW-commit Mason James (Norman North - OK). James said he “most enjoyed how the offense was rolling and seeing how my potential can be in it next year.”
2026 three-star ATH UW-commit Dre Pollard (Clark - NV) traveled up to Montlake with his teammate, fellow commit 2026 three-star UW-commit OT Dom Harris (Clark - NV). Following his gameday visit, Pollard highlighted the “competitive atmosphere” and said the visit “solidified the glaring benefits of the program.”
Along with securing its 20 commits, Washington’s staff has extended offers to a handful of 2026 recruits. Washington has also targeted recruits who have been committed to programs that have fired their head coaches. Here’s a rundown of the recent offers to go out to 2026 recruits:
2026 four-star Penn State-commit OT Marlen Bright (DePaul Catholic - NJ) is taking an official visit to Washington the weekend of UW’s game against Purdue (11/15) per his father. The 6-6, 285 lbs offensive tackle holds offers from Washington, Purdue, Florida State, Tulane, and others.
2026 four-star UCLA-commit DE Carter Gooden (Tabor Academy - MA) reported an offer from Washington this week. Gooden committed to UCLA in July, but has received offers from several schools since UCLA’s coaching change.
2026 Edge/DT JD Hill (Mission Viejo - CA) reported an offer from Washington earlier this week. This season, he’s averaged 9 tackles per game and he’s totatled 15 hurries, 29.5 TFLs, and 16.5 sacks. The teammate of 2026 UW-commit CB Jeron Jones. Hill is planning to make a gameday visit for one of Washington’s final two home games.
On the basketball side of things…
Five-star SF 2027 Malachi Jordan (Dream City Christian - AZ) made an official visit to Washington last weekend. Jordan has just under a dozen offers, which include Ohio State, Indiana, and Texas Tech.
Along with Jordan, five-star C Darius Wabbington (Sunnyslope - AZ), also made an official visit to Washington last weekend. The 6-10 center holds offers from Villanova, LSU, Maryland, and others.
Four-star PG 2027 Jalen Davis (Bremerton - WA) made an official visit to Washington in October. The Huskies may have homefield advantage, but they will be in a battle to keep the local star from leaving for the other three schools he’s hearing most from: Gonzaga, Texas Tech, and Stanford.
