12/4/25 Update - Revised to include additional player quotes and the signing of David Schwerzel
The Early Signing Period has arrived, and Washington has officially signed 25 members to its 2026 recruiting class—a group the staff has been building toward for over a year. Despite coaching changes across the country, this class held together and gave UW a strong foundation heading into next season.
The class includes several blue-chip defenders, a cornerstone offensive tackle, and some of the most productive West Coast athletes in the class.
Below is a full breakdown of who signed, where they’re from, and what they bring to Montlake.
What This Class Means for Washington
This class reflects exactly what Washington needed: size along both lines, length in the secondary, and dynamic playmakers who fit what the staff wants to build long-term.
UW’s defensive board was a major priority, and the staff delivered — stacking edge talent, landing versatile linebackers, and locking in multiple high-ceiling defensive backs.
The staff also held strong on key offensive targets, headlined by a franchise left tackle and a national-level wideout.
“The expectations of this class are really high, we have added a lot of talent everywhere” 2026 five-star OT signee Kodi Greene told SeaTown Sports. “We are going places with this 2026 class.”

Position-by-Position Breakdown
Quarterback

Derek Zammit - QB, DePaul Catholic (NJ) — 4-star
UW secured four-star QB Derek Zammit as its QB for the 2026 cycle. Zammit committed to the Huskies in April. The 6-0, 190 lbs signal caller led his high school team, DePaul Catholic, to a New Jersey state championship. He rushed for three touchdowns, finished 8-for-9 passing, and tallied 74 rushing yards in the 21-12 championship victory.
Running Back
Brian Bonner - RB, Valencia (CA) — 4-star
A recent scouting report from 247 Sports projects Bonner “as an eventual lead back who could become a legitimate NFL draft target.” Bonner’s ceiling is high, and he could have an impact as soon as his second year at Washington.
Ansu Sanoe – RB, Lakeridge (OR) — 3-star
Ansu Sanoe brings size, explosion, and a downhill style that fits perfectly with UW’s efforts to establish its offensive identity in the Big Ten.
“Great people and a great family atmosphere in the building at all times,” Sanoe told SeaTown Sports. “Each visit made me more excited to come be a Dawg.”
Wide Receiver
Mason James – WR, Norman North (OK) — 4-star
Mason James is one of the headliners on the offensive side of the Huskies’ 2026 recruiting class. James chose the Huskies over the likes of Texas, hometown Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arizona State.
“[Washington] is an up trending program,” James told SeaTown Sports. “Our potential is through the roof.”
Trez Davis– WR, West Monroe (LA) — 4-star
A surprise! Davis, a signing-day flip from Tulane, bolsters an incoming WR class that consists of three four-stars, joining James and Jordan Clay. A December scouting report called Davis an “explosive chunk play machine.”
Jordan Clay– WR, San Antonio Madison (TX) — 4-star
Clay joins the Huskies after being committed to Baylor since the summer. He committed to the Huskies on Tuesday, the day before signing day. At 6-3, Clay has a tall frame and will be expected to battle his other incoming freshman for snaps in a young and talented WR room.
Blaise LaVista - WR, Lincoln-Way East (IL) — 3-star
Hailing from Frankfort, Illinois, LaVista committed to Washington in July and made his visit to Seattle in August. He chose the Huskies over a handful of midwest schools.
Tight End
Sam Vyhlidal – TE, Lake Oswego (OR) — 3-star
Sam Vyhlidal gives UW a prototypical Big Ten build (6-4, 225 lbs) with strong hands and plus blocking ability. He intends to graduate early to join the Huskies.
“Washington felt like home the second I stepped foot in Husky Stadium,” Vyhlidal told SeaTown Sports. “Being surrounded by the coaches, players, and guys over there is an opportunity of a lifetime. There’s a ton of men over there that [will] develop me the way I want to be developed.”
Kekua Aumua - TE, Kahuku (HI) — 3-star
Aumua rounds out the 2026 class, deciding to flip to Washington from Florida on Friday, December 5th. A July 2024 scouting report described Aumua as “an athletic 6-5, 240 pound frame and projects as an every down tight end who can play in any situation.”
Offensive Line
Kodi Greene – OT, Mater Dei (CA) — 5-star
Kodi Greene is one of the highest-rated linemen the Huskies have landed in the modern era. He flipped from Oregon to Washington this past spring and has an opportunity to start on the offensive line as a true freshman.
Dominic Harris - OT, Clark (NV) — 3-star
Harris, is part of a trio of players from Las Vegas that will be migrating to the Northwest to play for the Huskies. The three-star recruit is listed at 6-7.5 and 335 lbs. “The whole staff” played a role in Harris’ recruitment, Harris said on signing day.
Ah Deong Yang – OL, Puyallup (WA) — 3-star
The local recruit out of Puyallup HS is another big body joining the Huskies. Yang is listed at 6-4, 320 lbs.
Defensive Line
J.D. Hill – DL, Mission Viejo (CA) — 4-star
Hill is the highest-rated recruit of the three defensive linemen joining the Huskies. A 6-2, 275 lbs, a November scouting report called him a “[d]isruptive defensive lineman” who played “his best football as senior,” totaling 108 tackles and 13 sacks in his team’s first 11 games.
Tufanua Ionatana Umu-Cais – DL, Cherry Creek (CO) — 4-star
Known as “TI,” Umu-Cais is one of the top recruits out of the state of Colorado. He is listed at 6-3, 307 lbs.
“I feel like [I will] bring a force to the Husky defense,” Umu-Cais told SeaTown Sports. “I’m looking forward to my development with Coch [Jason] Kaufusi and the staff.”
Ta’a Malu – DL, Annie Wright (WA) — 3-star
Malu, a local prospect, earned first-team all-league honors on both sides of the football. He is a late bloomer, as he’s only played two seasons of high school football. For most of his life, he’s competed in mixed martial arts.
David Schwerzel – DL, O’Dea (WA) — 3-star
The last-minute flip of Schwerzel is a welcome surprise for the Huskies. Schwerzel had been committed to UCLA since the summer. The local product then committed to Stanford after UCLA’s in-season coaching change. On Tuesday, Schwerzel flipped back to UCLA, before finally making his decision to stay home at Washington. Schwerzel’s athleticism allowed him to also star on offense for a talented O’Dea team. He is a solid in-state pick up for Fisch’s staff.
Edge
Derek Colman-Brusa – EDGE, Kennedy Catholic (WA) — 4-star
Colman-Brusa was the “cannot miss on” local recruit for the Huskies. He chose Washington over top programs such as Oregon and Ohio State. He will likely see a significant amount of playing time as true freshman.
Linebacker
Ezaya Tokio - LB, Oceanside (CA) — 3-star
The Oceanside linebacker will look the part heading into next season, boasting a frame of 6-4, 220 lbs. He will enter a crowded linebacker room, but will contend for playing time once a handful of seniors graduate after the 2026 season. Tokio told SeaTown Sports that his time with linebackers Coach Brian Odom and the plans for Tokio at Washington made the difference in his recruitment.
Ramzak Fruean - LB, Bethel (WA) — 3-star
Fruean originally committed to UCLA in June, but the Huskies were back in the picture after the Bruins let go of DeShaun Foster this past fall. He is the No. 4 ranked recruit in the state of Washington per 247 sports.
Defensive Back
Gavin Day – S, Faith Lutheran (NV) — 4-star
The four-star safety is considered one of the top West Coast safeties in the class of 2026. Day is a playmaker with good speed. He has an opportunity to learn from one of the hardest-hitting safeties ever to come out of the Northwest, UW safeties coach Taylor Mays.
“I think [the coaching staff] will help me develop my overall DB skills,” Day told SeaTown Sports. “I feel like Coach Mays can help me see the game even faster than what I see it at currently.”
Rahsjon Duncan – CB, McClymonds (CA) — 4-star
A June scouting report called Duncan one of “the most physical defensive backs out West.” The 6-1, 190 lb cornerback chose Washington over Arizona, Arizona State, and a handful of other schools.
Jeron Jones – CB, Mission Viejo (CA) — 4-star
Jones, a teammate of fellow UW-commit J.D. Hill, chose the Huskies over Texas A&M, Cal, Arizona State, and others. He is a solid cornerback with a competitive mindset and a high ceiling. He may not have the same buzz as other prized four-star recruits in this class, but he will likely compete for snaps as a true freshman in Ryan Walters’ defense.
Jones shared with SeaTown Sports on his relationship with UW’s coaching staff:
“Just the bond they made with me and how quick it was,” Jones told SeaTown Sports. “They were the most consistent and always checked on the fam as well.”
Elijah Durr – DB, Mount Tahoma (WA) — 3-star
The Mount-Tahoma product earned league MVP honors this past season. At 6-1, 175 lbs, Durr played both ways in high school, displaying good ball skills as a receiver. A March scouting report projects him out as a potential safety.
Ksani Jiles – CB, IMG Academy (FL) — 3-star
Jiles chose the Huskies over several top programs across the country. He was at one point committed to Miami. Jiles is listed at 6-0, 180 lbs.
Special Teams
C.J. Wallace – K, St. John Bosco (CA) — 3-star
I’m excited about Wallace’s arrival to Montlake. Wallace, one of the earliest commits of Washington’s 2026 class, has 50-plus-yard field goal range. He regularly hit kickoffs into the end zone this past high school season.
“Coach Fisch is building something truly special,” Wallace told SeaTown Sports. “This 2026 class [is] locked and loaded with talent. [I] can’t thank the whole staff enough for putting their trust in me for this opportunity. Can’t wait to get up there in January!!”
