Washington Targets Elite In-State Talent With 8 Offers in 2027 Class
Huskies make top 2027 Washington football recruits a priority, extending offers to eight standout prospects across the Pacific Northwest.
Washington has made it clear: locking down the top in-state talent is a major priority in the 2027 class. So far, the Huskies have extended offers to eight standout players from the Pacific Northwest. These early offers give us a glimpse into which local stars are already on the radar — and who could be future Dawgs.
Sione Kaho, QB — Lincoln, Tacoma, WA
Height/Weight: 6-2.5, 205 lbs
Offer Date: 5/22/24
Other Offers: Utah, Sacramento State, Washington State, Arizona State, Cal, BYU, Oregon, Stanford
Kaho is emerging as one of the top 2027 quarterbacks on the West Coast. In an April scouting report, 247 Sports’ Greg Biggins says, Kaho is “very polished as a thrower with a smooth, easy delivery, spins it really well and has a nice touch and feel for throwing the deeper routes.”
The Tacoma-product made several spring visits to Washington and was on campus for the team’s opening win against Colorado State. After his June visit he told me that UW’s coaching staff emphasized that he is “a major priority.” He also highlighted UW football’s new facilities including new meeting rooms and its new dining area.
Tevita Nonu, DL — O’Dea, Seattle, WA
Height/Weight: 6-3, 280 lbs
Offer Date: 12/7/24
Other Offers: 11 including: Arizona State, Notre Dame, and Cal.
Football powerhouse O’Dea has another heralded prospect in the trenches. Nonu is the No. 1 ranked 2027 recruit in the state per 247 Sports composite.
This past spring Nonu made it out to Washington’s Junior Day and the team’s Spring Game. Washington took a hit when Nonu’s teammates, 2026 EDGE David Schwerzel and 2026 EDGE Fa Siale recently decided to commit to UCLA and Michigan State respectively. The Huskies will look to reverse this trend in their recruitment of Nonu.
Zach Albright, TE — Glacier Peak, Snohomish, WA
Height/Weight: 6-5, 225 lbs
Offer Date: 3/9/25
Other Offers: 8 including: Michigan, Wisconsin, and Texas A&M.
Albright tallied eight touchdowns and hauled in 29 receptions for 403 yards as a sophomore at Glacier Peak. At 6-5, he has ideal size at the tight end position. Albright also plays basketball and runs track. This past season he had personal records of 20’4” in the long jump and 6’4” in high jump.
After receiving an offer from Washington in March at UW’s Junior Day, the local tight end prospect said that Paopao’s “belief . . . in me as a sophomore is unmatched” and that he “couldn’t be happier that my first offer is from . . . right here at home.”
Gecova Doyal, OT — Puyallup HS, Puyallup, WA
Height/Weight: 6-4, 285 lbs
Offer Date: 5/13/24
Other Offers: 14 including: Arizona State, Miami, Oregon, and Penn State

“Cova is the complete package,” says his trainer, Coach Tui Avaava at AEP Athletics. “He’s absolutely dominant in the run game, [has] great footwork, [a] violent punch[,] and takes proper angles.” Avaava adds, “In pass protection, [he is] really patient with his feet and hands, and great at blocking in space.”
There is no doubt Jedd Fisch is focusing on building up Washington’s offensive line through recruiting. So, when a local talent crops up like Doyal, I expect the Huskies to hone in on convincing Doyal to stay in-state. Doyal is a familiar face on Montlake as he made several spring visits to Washington.
Maurice Williams, ATH — Graham-Kapowsin, Puyallup, WA
Height/Weight: 6-1, 185 lbs
Offer Date: 6/14/24
Other Offers: 10 including: BYU, Boise State, and Arizona State.
The two-way player is a top ten recruit in Washington. Williams was a frequent visitor to Montlake this past spring, making it out for the program’s Junior Day, a spring practice, and the team’s spring game. The Huskies are serious about Williams, but will have stiff competition to earn his commitment.
Braylon Pope, WR — Sumner HS, Sumner, WA
Height/Weight: 6-3, 185 lbs
Offer Date: 5/22/24
Other Offers: 13 including: Arizona State, BYU, and Colorado State
The Huskies offered Pope as a freshman in 2024. Pope visited Washington for its Spring last Spring. He is the No. 4 recruit in Washington per 247 Sports Composite.
Ty Tautolo, Edge — Lake Stevens HS, Lake Stevens, WA
Height/Weight: 6-4, 240 lbs
Offer Date: 5/10/24
Other Offers: 10 including: Notre Dame, Oregon, and Texas A&M
Taulolo is a top target for Washington Defensive Line Coach Jason Kaufusi. The 2027 target visited Washington for its spring game. He already has offers from national programs. I expect his offer list to continue growing as his junior season progresses.
J’Isaiah Mitchell, ATH — Puyallup HS, Puyallup, WA
Height/Weight: 6-5, 196 lbs
Offer Date: 6/2/24
Other Offers: 8 including: BYU, Cal, and Washington State
Mitchell is a tall and athletic receiver with a high ceiling. He was on Washington’s radar as a sophomore. Mitchell made visits to UW in the spring and is making multiple gameday visits to Washington this fall.
